Singapore is one of the most visited cities in the world. In 2016, it received 16.4 million visitors, making it the second most popular destination in Asia Pacific after Bangkok.
To experience the true Singapore, a 5- or 6-day personalized trip is highly recommended. But if you are just here for a short stay, make sure you don’t miss out these five most iconic places:
1. Sentosa Island
Sentosa is an integrated resort island with a wide array of leisure activities, themed attractions, luxury accommodations and spas, world-class golf courses and yachting. It is designed for both business and leisure.

Besides a host of fun activities that are scattered around the island, there are also several major attractions at Sentosa, such as:
Universal Studio Singapore (USS): With seven major movie-themed zones, USS is the first Hollywood movie theme park in Southeast Asia. Unlike Disneyland where the majority of activities are designed for kids, USS features more thrilling adventures and rides. Adults will like them too!

S.E.A. Aquarium: The S.E.A. Aquarium has more than 100,000 underwater animals, covering 800 species. At the enormous Open Ocean habitat, you can observe many different sea animals swimming before your eyes. The giant observation panel, the dimly lit area and the peaceful view create an immersive feel, as if you are sitting in a corner of the ocean. It has an uncannily hypnotizing effect.

2. Marina Bay Sands
The uniquely shaped architecture is the ultimate destination for luxury travel. Marina Bay Sands consists of three 55-storey towers with extravagant hotel rooms, a grand casino, gourmet food restaurants, various luxury shops and designer boutiques.

At the Sands SkyPark Observation Deck, you will get a 360° views of Singapore’s city skyline. If you have checked into the hotel, you can also get access to the rooftop infinity pool that overlooks the CBD. That’s your perfect Instagram moment!

Adjacent to the Marina Bay Sands are two other major attractions: The lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum and Gardens by the Bay. In the evening, the Supertrees at the Gardens put on a spectacular show of choreographed lights and sounds.

3. Singapore Flyer
Singapore Flyer is the tallest Ferris Wheel in Asia. Its highest point is 165m above the ground, about the height of a 42-storey building. A ride takes 30 minutes to complete.

In a clear day, you will be able to see as far as parts of Malaysia and Indonesia.
4. National Gallery Singapore
Though Singapore is just a small red dot on the map, its influence cannot be underestimated. In art, the city has in recent years become an important hub with a thriving artistic and cultural scene.

National Gallery Singapore is the latest addition to the scene, featuring the biggest collection of modern Singapore and Southeast Asian art. You can expect guided tours, artist talks and conversations with curators.
5. Changi Airport
Changi Airport is voted the World’s Best Airport for five years in a row, including 2017, and it has been crowned eight times since the award was introduced in 2000. The airport is also a tourist attraction in its own right. Stay a bit longer and experience it when you arrive or before your departure, you will easily understand why it has consistently been voted as the best.

Spacious and clean, with a high-ceiling design and a feeling-at-home atmosphere, it doesn’t give you the feel of a busy place for transit. Rather, it feels more like a grand shopping mall. You can find myriads of shops and duty-free outlets selling gadgets, wine, luxury products, cosmetics and fashion accessories. Coupled with a wide variety of food and beverage outlets, it offers a complete shopping experience.
Different from many other airports, food and service prices at Changi Airport are the same as those in the city area!
Worried that kids and guys might get bored? There are abundant entertainment activities at every terminal! Try woodblock rubbing – a traditional Singapore art, or head to Asian Icon Interactive Art Station, Family Zone or Enchanted Garden. There are also kid’s playgrounds, multimedia decks, video games, seats for music and movies.

If you crave nature inside the massive concrete building, go explore Sunflower Garden, Orchid Garden and Koi Pond at Terminal 2, or Butterfly Garden at Terminal 3.
